I think that this is a known deficiency of the earlier cookie spec, and
that several other UAs intentionally work around it by supporting more
domain names. emacs-w3m, for instance, has the flag
`w3m-cookie-accept-bad-cookies' to toggle between compliant behavior and
work-around behavior.
