I'll check it. As workaround, you might use an out-of-band method like
scp; this shouldn't suffer from such problems. Which Tramp version do
you use? Tramp 2.0.53 from Emacs CVS?
Another help might be that Tramp 2.1 considers file-precious-flag,
that means at least it raises an error when it finds a corruption
during file copy.
