A nice feature of Emacs -- namely that of showing in the message
area the keystroke one could have used instead of doing it the
long way around with M-x -- fails to put that message in the
*Messages* buffer.
That is intentional, because these messages are just hints,
not reports about the status of editing.
I expect most users would rather exclude those hints from
*Messages*, so that more messages that give real information
about the editing session will remain there.
I think we should not change that, but rather add a hook you could use
to speak these messages. If someone wants to do it, please do it.
