I use Emacs 23 (under Windoze and MacOSX, both built from Sep. 15 cvs
source). I dont have this problem.

I do have problem with gnus registry. From time to time some "($" were
written into .gnus.registry.eld. At last I have to disable gnus
registry. Just I can not track to where the problem is.

Just for your information in case you need some background info since
there are not many Emacs 23 users.
