Areas in all buffer displays (including minibuffer) not filled with text are
painted with
the window background color (gray). This happens on builds made on openSuSE
10.1. The problem
is not occuring with the same sources built on Fedora 6 -- which uses a
different version
of the GTK+ library.
A picture of the problem can be found in
http://uncle-toby.livejournal.com/9536.html.
Emacs was started from the build src/ directory (i.e. before running make
install)
on a new installation of openSuSE 10.1.
In GNU Emacs 23.0.0.1 (i686-pc-linux-gnu, GTK+ Version 2.8.10)
of 2006-11-22 on linux-sz140
X server distributor `The X.Org Foundation', version 11.0.60900000
configured using `configure '--with-gtk' '--with-xft' '--enable-font-backend''
