It's at a lower level than jka-compr: (let ((default-directory "a/b/c")) (call-process "gzip" "c:/emacs/otros/quack.el.gz" t nil "-d")) Let's not go around in circles. We've already seen why this can't be "fixed" in a natural way. So jka-compr needs to be fixed to avoid doing this. Would someone please fix jka-compr?
