Yes, the branch you want is emacs-30.  I'd recommend doing that,
especially if time is concern.

You can also wait for the pretest tarballs and build them.  Make sure
you're subscribed to the info-gnu-emacs mailing list if you want to see
the announcements (they are also posted here):
