Hi Florian,
                 Thank you for your reply.

But, the problem is even after I installed vmd in the server I am fetting this follwing error while running "harmonic-oscillator.tcl" from Espresso samples.
ERROR) Unable to ascertain relative endianness of remote machine
Unable to connect to host 127.0.0.1 on port 10001

Regards,
Nairhita

Hello,
you can write the configurations/structure to files with either writevtf/writevcf or the writepdb commands. Bothe filetypes are understood by vmd
and can be viewed on a different machien. Please look at the relevant parts of the User's guide about their syntax.
If you wan't to have true online visualization then it's much easier if VMD runs on the same simulation otherwise. While it is not technically impossible to have them on different machines this is not straight forward and not recommended for new users nor supported by us.

Cheers,
Florian

Hello all!
As I am a completely new user and trying to run the sample files came with Espresso. I just wanted to know is it necessary to have vmd installed in the same system (as I have installed Espresso in our server) where I am running Espresso. Or can I have the visual output files separately which I can open in a lab pc.
