It is not possible to manipulate a given tetrahedron in the language!

Yes, I think I have the solution.
You can define functions according to the reference of tetrahedra:
=====
function f = reference (T, 1:g, 2:h, 3:k);
=====
where g, h, and k are functions or doubles. And 1,2,3 are tetrahedra
references of the mesh T.
