Hi Germán,
Thanks for the quick reply. I chose the option 2 (compile GNUstep
myself). It went ok. Did not see any errors.

Install log for the InstallGNUstep script

Arguments:
Root Prefix:
Install Root:

Source files:
 SVN: no
gnustep-make-2.6.0
gnustep-base-1.22.0
gnustep-gui-0.20.0
gnustep-back-0.20.1

Configuring for x86_64-unknown-linux-gnu
CPPFLAGS:
LDFLAGS:

/home/osman/Downloads/gnustep-startup-0.26.1/configure
--with-library-combo=gnu-gnu-gnu
Upgrade options:
 make no
 base no
 gui no

Building in /home/osman/Downloads/gnustep-startup-0.26.1/build
Installing in default location (usually /usr/GNUstep)
Install Prefix:
Library combo: gnu-gnu-gnu

After GNUstep installation, I followed the instructions:

Changes to /etc/rc.local were ok. But to .bashrc resulted not being able
to login again :-(
Looks like gdnc returns ok, but gpbs never returns. I added "&" to it.
now I can log in. make_services gives :
make_services
2011-06-19 11:38:39.533 make_services[6639] File NSUserDefaults.m: 685.
In +[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] Improper installation: No
language locale found

and
I re-compiled and re-installed FisicaLab.
openapp FisicaLab
2011-06-19 11:39:14.774 FisicaLab[6641] File NSUserDefaults.m: 685. In
+[NSUserDefaults standardUserDefaults] Improper installation: No
language locale found
2011-06-19 11:39:14.779 FisicaLab[6641] Did not find correct version of
backend, falling back to std.
2011-06-19 11:39:14.779 FisicaLab[6641] NSApplication.m:286 Assertion
failed in initialize_gnustep_backend. Unable to find backend back
Aborted

Looks like a few thing are wrong with my installation of GNUstep.
Any ideas? Should I uninstall ubuntu loaded GNUstep? I have not done
that.

Thanks,
Osman
