Search for maintainer

About browsing the GNU website, I saw that this project is searching for 
a maintainer. I would be interested in taking over that position as I 
have always been interested in Font related stuff. It started back in 
the olden days of DOS with bending the BIOS to the breaking point to 
install new bitmapped fonts for the text mode and it is still a hobby of 
mine, so if that position is still vacant, I'm prepared to take up the 
challenge.
