Hey Chris,
Looking at the code in ipmitool more closely, there are definitely
checks for a discrete vs. non-discrete sensor, however implemented
differently. Not incorrectly, just differently, which if the mobo
vendor does not take into consideration, can lead to invalid output. I
think this may be what's happening.

It is likely these are not correct. At the minimum, there are no units.
In addition, if this is a fan RPM sensor, 42.34 is likely very very
wrong. If it is voltage, it is also very very wrong. Do these values
even seem correct?

These could possibly be correct, but if they are, it's a side effect.
The event-reading-type code of these sensors is a discrete sensor, not a
non-discrete sensor. So something is not good on the motherboard.
Which version of ipmitool are you using? Also, is it the standard
ipmitool released by a redhat/suse or perhaps one released by HP?
