Actually, the compilation problem was a compiler problem!
As I have tried to compile on a new machine (Linux RedHat 7.2 <- ),
the compiler is: gcc version 2.96 20000731.

Going back to gcc version 2.95.3 make everything work!
This 2.96 version is NOT official!
