Hi there!
When using the stroker interface to artificially
embolden a face, is there a routine (or an otherwise
fairly simple and pleasing recipe) for similarly
altering the face's metrics (i.e. baseline-baseline
distance) and glyph metrics (advance.x with/without
kerning)?
It's fairly obvious how to fake most of these (usually
a case of adding 1x or 2x the stroke radius), but I
was wondering if there was an official/better method.
Another question is how stroking affects (auto-)hinting;
does (auto-)hinting effectively break when we start
to use stroking? If using auto-hinting, and the auto-
hinting happens at rasterization (i.e. after the stroke),
then I think it's probably okay.
Thanks,
--Adam
