Thanks for getting in touch, it is always interesting to hear about
others who have interest in the legal aspects of Free Software.

That seems like a very useful endeavour.

Although it is important that modifications to the GPL are only done
by the FSF, as we cannot risk having incompatibilities between
different versions of the GPL around the world, it is very important
to have people investigate the effects of local law on the GPL - we
need to build a strong basis of studies around that area.
