Woops - I used the wrong subject earlier.

It's a version of the Common Lisp object system (CLOS), I believe derived
from an older style object system and which builds on older CltL1 compilers
such as GCL and Clisp.
The reason I tried building it is that I wanted to build the new PDF library
recently announced on c.l.l.
