[gcmd-dev] gnome-commander | Remote server connection two issues (#112)

Ken Taylor created an issue:
https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-commander/-/issues/112

I am connected from a Linux Mint 20.2 virtual machine (on VMWare
workstation/player) to the host (CentOS 7) by SSH using gcdr 1.12.3. The
connection uses my username and an ssh key which is installed on the server.
The connection points to the root directory on the host.

I have a hard drive/file system mounted as /xtra on the host.

[ken@taylor20 ~]$ ll / | grep xtra
drwxrwxrwx. 10 ken ken 4096 Oct 31 15:51 xtra

However, in gcdr it is not displayed as a directory

In gcdr xtra is shown as:

name: xtra
size: 0 B
data: 2021-10-31 15:51
perm: ---------
uid: 0
gid: 0

I have another drive/filesystem mounted in the same way on the host and it does
display as a directory and I can navigate through it.

I have have what appears to be a hidden file displayed in gcdr even though "[ ]
Show hidden files" is unchecked

[ken@taylor20 ~]$ ll -a / | grep .read
-rw-r--r--. 1 root root 215896 Nov 18 10:07 .readahead

In gcdr .readahead is shown as:

name: .readahead
size: 0 B
data: 2021-11-18 10:07
perm: ---------
uid: 0
gid: 0

And I see a hidden directory which is present on the host.

[ken@taylor20 ~]$ ll -a / | grep .cr
drwxrwxrwx. 5 ken ken 4096 Feb 28 2021 .cr

In gcdr .cr is shown as:

name: .cr
size: 0 B
data: 2021-02-28 07:33
perm: ---------
uid: 0
gid: 0

The "[ ] Show Hidden Files" option seems to work fine on LOCAL files and
folders. The action on remote systems is rather strange. Let me try and
explain...

In the left pane I have my LOCAL home directory and in the right pane I have my
home directory on the remote host. When [X} Show Hidden Files is checked I see
all files and folders in my LOCAL home directory as expected. At the bottom of
the pane it says "0 of 17 files, 0 of 27 dirs selected" which is correct.

On the remote pane I see all files and folders displayed. However, the counts
show "0 of 7 files, 0 of 24 dirs selected." There are in fact 29 hidden
directories, 12 regular directories, 17 hidden files and 9 regular files.

That is what I can offer as far as my observations. Please feel free to contact
me if I can provide any additional information.

Thanks,

Ken
