Hi

today happened a not-very-funny thing: I've just tried to update my site
by adding a patch (some folder and some files to overwrite on my site's
structure).
Why not use ftp feature of gnomecommander? So, I've connected to my ftp,
selecting my files and press F5, just as I did with windows commander.

Well, after done that, I've lost months of work: every files under
directories in my patch was deleted BEFORE uploading. While uploading,
of course, only new files was uploaded.

Result is: now on my site there is ONLY the patch. All other files was
deleted. Of course I have a backup but I've uploaded a lot of MBytes in
several months, and now I need to restore them all.

I'm using different OSs and SWs since more than ten years, and I've
never seen a software doing a thing like this, even without a warning!

At now, I'm spending more than 8 hours to restore all damages made by
gmcd. And I still didn't finished.

This is my feedback for this product. My first and last one. I hope this
will be useful for the dev (change FTP system) and for users (don't use
gcmd FTP until system will be changed).

Hi Massimiliano,

I am really sorry for the problems that this bug has lead to for you. On the other hand you are the first person to report this bug so I do not in any way feel responsible for neglecting it or something like that. Bugs do happen in all software development and if no one reports them and I dont find them myself, how am I
supposed to know about them?

I can reproduce the problem here though, so it will be fixed in the next version.

Thanks for reporting the problem

/Marcus
