I have had this identical problem as well, but it is not a gnome-commander
problem. Try to view the icons you downloaded with various image viewers.
You will see that some display them at the wrong size.

I don't remember completely, as I did it half a year ago, but in the source
it goes wrong when requesting the icon size via a gtk/gdk library function.
Guess they didn't do anything with the bug-report yet...

Since this is not a gc problem, I do not have a workaround...

Hi all,

I'm a gcmd newbie. I installed gcmd from Ubuntu Feisty repo. All seem to
be
working well, except for one thing: the icon size for the devices (hard
disk, etc.). If I am using OS X icon theme (downloaded from gnome-look.org
),
the icons of the devices are too large. This messes the interface (for
example, the device bar). This does not happen if I use other icon theme.
Is
this because the icon theme contains SVG icons? Is there a way to prevent
gmcd from using these icons? The only workaround I currently know is by
adding the devices (using the option device tab) and explicitly assign
another icon to the device. This works for the hard disk partitions (and
frequently used USB drives) but won't work if I connect another USB device
(since Ubuntu automatically creates a mount point for it at
/media/device_label).

Is there a better way to circumvent this problem?

Thanks,
Iwan
