Placing output after evaluated code?

Is there a way for geiser to emulate "scheme -edwin" behavior?

Specifically, where the output of the REPL evaluation is placed in the same buffer as the code, but without the REPL prompt.

I see that geiser-mode along with run-geiser behaves almost like this, however is placing the output of C-x-e evaluation under the Emacs mode line.  Appreciate any insight on how to get this output under the code being evaluated like Edwin does.

Thanks
