Dear Raghu,

I guess your problem might come from the fact that Spyder does not properly link with PYTHONPATH.

I suggest to try first to run your .py file in a simple terminal (or Anaconda terminal if you have Anaconda) to check the correct installation of GetFEM++. If this works, then it means that the issue is that of the parameters/options of Spyder to locate the new library. I do not use Spyder but a web search should help you on that point.
