[Gm2] forthcoming changes

Hi,

In the next couple of days I'll be pushing some changes up to git.
These involve, bug fixes to the regression suite and also a new
compiler flag (-fm2-whole-program).

This flag will instruct gm2 to compile all implementation modules and
optimize across all before emitting a single assembly file.  Currently
this flag compiles some of the gm2 examples programs (map, pge).  On the
to do list is to figure out how to link this object - however the
assembly output when using -O3 and -fm2-whole-program is particularly
pleasing :-)

I'll also be fixing John's reported bug re: import from local modules
