 NOTE: The 'separators' keyword was not used in the dbconfig field 
 definition of the multi-enum field. Adding a line
 
 separators ": ";
 
 made things work. However, the docs say that if the keyword 'separators' 
 isn't present, the default separators ':' and ' ' are implied.
 
 It would be logical to have defaults, so I suggest that the behaviour is 
 changed to behave as the docs say.
