enumerated-in-file and multi-enumerated-in-file fields have no "default" 
dbconfig fields (why?)

It is reasonable to assume that the default for enumerated-in-file is always 
the first entry (check this before documenting it), but where does 
multi-enumerated-in-file fields get their defaults?
