 Sorry about the belated response.
 
 There actually is a way to integrate LDAP authentication into a GNATS
 database.  There is a pending patch for PAM integration.  Look for it on
 the mailing lists or in PR#312.  I must caution you, however, with PAM
 integration.  Without some sort of encryption for the GNATS wire
 protocol (ala stunnel), passwords would be sent in clear-text over the
 wire.
