A patched binutils was being used - the binutils I was using was from
the lemote repo, specifically the version shown in detail below. Is the
2.18.50-loongson2 version you included as a .patch file expected to
work where the 2.18.1~cvs20080103-7.loongson.r03 version I used is not
expected to? If so I will try a new build with your version (or if there
is a .deb of it somewhere, please point me to it.)
