As far as I remember I had never used s-p-g before, so I do not know.

Version 0.7.7.1+nmu1.1 is the most latest version in my system.
Perhaps I have the wrong apt lines; here are (uncommented lines of) my
apt lines:
deb http://archive.gnewsense.org/gnewsense-metad/gnewsense metad main
deb-src http://archive.gnewsense.org/gnewsense-metad/gnewsense metad main
deb http://archive.gnewsense.org/gnewsense-metad/gnewsense-security
metad/updates main
(Since s-p-g did not work I restored the original lines from the
backup and changed the last line as you said before.)
