Hi people.

Had been using gNewSense Amagi amagi.gnu.org.ve for some time and
decided to install gNewSense. I will incorporate the changes made by
Amagi to make gNewSense lighter and minimal for the Lemote Yeeloong.
This is a decisión made by the Amagi team based on recomendations of
RMS to reincorporate Amagi to gNewSense.

On the gNewSense installation, I followed the steps in
http://wiki.gnewsense.org/Projects/GNewSenseToMIPS. Everything went
fine untill the installation finished and the computer rebooted. It
was all normal but instead of seeing a kernel in /boot I get another
file:

PMON> devls
Device name   Type
rtl0                 IFNET
wd0                DISK
PMON> dir (wd0,0)/boot
.                     <DIR>
..                    <DIR>
delo.2nd          <FILE>       67757
PMON> load (wd0,0)/boot/vmlinux-2.6.31.6-libre1
(wd0,0)/boot/vmlinux-2.6.31.6-libre1: Undefined error: 0
PMON> load (wd0,0)/boot/vmlinux
(wd0,0)/boot/vmlinux: Undefined error: 0
PMON> load (wd0,0)/boot/delo.2nd
Loading file: (wd0,0)/boot/delo.2nd (elf)
0x80440000/50776 + 0x8044c658/6856(z) + 131 syms-
Entry address is 0x80443840
PMON>

And cannot boot. Obviously the kernel was not copied but the resto of
the OS has been installed because when I type:
dir (wd0,0)/
I can see the whole directory tree and home has my username.

Should I reinstall?

Hola Quiliro,

First, it's advisable to create an rescue USB stick, as described in
"Creation of a recovery system for the Yeeloong
laptop" ( http://wiki.gnewsense?org/Projects/Lemote#toc19 ).

Then examine your system.

Then, eventually try to download & install one linux-image located in
http://www.fsfla.org/download/linux-libre/lemote/gnewsense/pool/

Muy atentamente

Samy

FWIW, I get exactly the same behaviour as reported by Quiliro when using the wiki instructions.

Nothing is in the boot folder other than the file delo.2nd and the machine does not boot.

Is there something missing from the wiki instructions?

Cheers

Tony.
And cannot boot. Obviously the kernel was not copied but the resto of

Thank you Samy.

I have a kernel on my usb flash memory. It is 2.6.31.6-libre1. It is
the one I used for the installation. My usb flash memory has also a
boot system as described is needed for the installation.

I reinstalled the system. Near the end it said that no boot loader was
installed. Then came to the point where the system is about to
restart. I can see the installed system at /target. I can even chroot
to it and the kernel is not at /boot . I do no know how to mount the
usb flash memory to copy the kernel to /boot . Will you please tell me
how to do it?

This is inside the installer's shell.
