Any gdb trace would be usefull. Anyway, you may try Ulrich hint:
"I changed every g_malloc(sizeof(gn_sms)) to g_malloc0(..) in
xgnokii_lowlevel.c and it works for me."

And it looks definitely as a good idea, so probably I'll do this in the
next CVS update.
