monitoring phone battery status

Hello list,
first - a great thanks for this software!

I have a Nokia 6210 with cable connection on my FreeBSD server. The 
phone/gnokii send sms and operator logo very well. 

But one problem i can't resolve with manpage and archiv:
How can i monitoring the battery status from the phone?
(my cat play last week with the power cable and put it out from phone ;)

I try 'gnokii --monitor 3600 2>&1 | monitor_battery.sh', but then takes 
send sms a long time. How can i run the --monitor command for _one_ 
time (to monitoring this with a hourly cronjob)?

My system:
FreeBSD 5.1-RELEASE-p12
GNOKII Version 0.6.3
Nokia 6210 with seriell cable connection
