Reliability

Hello there,

Is anyone on this list using 5110 or 6110 "in the long run"?
I mean using it for something _continuously_, like server monitoring or the
like.
I wonder if you experienced any communication failures that require the
phone to be restarted (eventually by battery removal).
What's the average MTBF?

(I am _not_ talking about restarts caused by PC-side; only the ones likely
due to the phone failing to communicate at some point in time).

If possible, please mention the serial adapter hardware used for the
connection.

I am running an embedded system (not gnokii-based but using the same
principle) communicating with 5110/6110 and every once in a while (i.e. days
or maybe weeks) the link is lost and the phone must be restarted (with no
system restart). It does not happen to every system/phone combination. I'd
like to know if it's possible to be a phone or serial hardware fault.

Thank you,
Florin
