Hi, I'm the maintainer of the FreeBSD port.

Could you send me, directly to my address, the full log of the build? 
This error is quite strange and I need to have a closer look to 
understand what is going wrong.

FreeBSD does have a strndup(3). Also, I will need to see you /etc/make.conf.
