Hi

   Thanks for the reply.

  I finally figured for some reason, the /dev/ttyUSB0 and /dev/ttyUSB1 go missing after some time.
If I unplug and plug the E220 again to the USB port it works.


Any ideas why the device goes  missing in Linux. On Windows there seem to be no issue.

those errors are returned by the operating system, gnokii just prints
the message

what happens if you close xgnokii and then retry?

also install gnokii and try from Terminal:
gnokii --getsms SM 1 end
