you told smsd to read SMS from phone memory instead of from SIM, but
according to the thread you cited, the first ME locations of your
phone are actually the SIM locations (other phones use MT to mean
SM+ME)

it's not ok because you will loose it at the next upgrade
now smsd has an option to do that at runtime:
smsd --inbox ME ...other arguments...
