i realized that may be confusing for those unfamiliar with parabola -
parabola's dotnet is taken directly from arch - it was possible to disable the
telemetry feature without re-building, by setting an environment variable; so
that is still the case

arch prefers to built everything from source if possible - there is usually a
fundamental reason why some package is not built from source, that could be
because it is not possible
