I've never seen this error message before, so this is a wild guess.
What happens if you give the command
ls -l /bin/sh*

It should answer something like
-rwxr-xr-x  1 NNNN  root   473600 May  8 19:24 /bin/bash.exe*

if it doesn't something went wrong during the installation, 
I hope you installed all the components in the list offered
by install.exe.

If you still have problems, write back and we'll try to 
do some more debugging at a distance. Don't forget to
specify which Windows version you use.
