Details:

We should have a tool to test the auto-completion scripts while they are under
development. This ensures backward compatibility. We should not break previous
behavior and some rare cases that might come up. Obviously, developers might
forget to test a special case, or they might not have the time to test all the
test cases right after each minute change in code.

I have found a post by brbsix
<https://brbsix.github.io/2015/11/29/accessing-tab-completion-programmatically-in-bash/>
that tackles the very same issue. This looks like a neat approach to write
bash auto-completion tests.
