Dear FP, first of all, due to the nature of the your questions, it would
be nice to know your name and your company. The opensource cobol is a very interesting
subject for analysts and you look like one of them. Nothing against, but it’s
nice to know it. BTW, as far as I know, and Roger may confirm, behind OC there is
no big guy. Just good ones (Roger, Sergey, Keisuke-san, and some others). Sure there is a market interest in opensource cobol, since
microfocus is getting every day more boring with its price policies, fujitsu
delivers only on a limited set of platforms, acu is practically dead and liant …
who knows? COBOL is still one of the most used languages and there are
still tons of code written with it. Just consider there are more than 20K
mainframes in the world: you just have to do some computing…. Regards Fabrizio Da:

Primes Who is using open source Cobol? Are there
any big guys behind it--IBM, HP, etc? How much of a market exists for open
source Cobol and is that market increasing or decreasing? Windows
