GNU Go 3.3.23 is now available at: [...] If you can run the regressions on other platforms, could you let us know if there are any changed results?
3.3.23 compiles and runs fine on Mac OS X 10.1, 10.2, and 10.3 (Panther prerelease). make regression did not find any problems.
If you want to do any testing, we're interested in knowing if the engine is slower than 3.2. I believe that it is, but perhaps the following is true: that level 9 may be comparable to GNU Go 3.2 and about 2 stones stronger.
On my Mac, "time make regression" gives the following results: 3.3.23 1050.970u 5.850s 23:24.91 75.2% 0+0k 1+23io 0pf+0w 3.2 1249.210u 6.040s 24:16.30 86.1% 0+0k 0+23io 0pf+0wAll this using the defaults compile and run options. However, I'm not sure it proves anything since the regression tests themselves have changed. Is there a constant benchmarking test?
