SP Lee has sent me a file called (.7Mb) which
may be found at:

After inflating you get the following three files:

gnugo.exe (2408514 bytes)
gnugogmp.exe (24576 bytes)
Instructions.txt (522 bytes)

Here are the contents of Instructions.txt:

1. Copy gnugogmp.exe to the same directory of gnugo.exe.
2. This program has to be run in command prompt mode.
3. Go to the directory containing gnugo.exe, assuming com1 port is used.
3. To let gnugo play black, type:
   gnugogmp com1 black
4. To let gnugo play white, type:
   gnugogmp com1 white

If gnugo is to play black, it's better to let the opponent program start first
to wait the reset command from gnugo.

Game settings: komi 6.5, time 40 minutes, byo-time 0, game record in "game.sgf"

It is proposed to use this system (work of Paul and SP Lee)
at Gifu.

The SGMP patch is now in the CVS. I checked that it doesn't
seem to break play under CGoban. There should be no change
in play if you use --mode gmp. But there is a new mode
--mode sgmp.
