It status is pre-alpha, it compiles and needs jdk 1.5.

Long term goal is create good  gogame library for java.

This is first public version, narugo_0_1.zip.

I'm not quite clean exactly what you're trying to do here, is it:
a) a function by function port of gnugo from c to java
b) a java program which reuses the gnugo datafiles 
c) a java program in the spirit of gnugo

On the sourceforge page you mention XML, implying (c). Have you settled on an XML representation?
