The problem you encounter happens because no decision has been made for this 
bill
as to whether VAT (value added tax, Mehrwertsteuer, bzw Umsatzsteuer) is to be
applied or not.

The error shows up because GNUmed fails to check for that condition. The 
immediate
workaround for you is to decide whether to apply VAT or not.

I will add a check for that to GNUmed.

You may also want to try GNUmed 1.8.8 which has been released yesternight.
