Nothing against Qt besides the current Qt thread. But there is a further
solution: Bother GTK+ developers with your requirements. It was told that
wxPython people told you it would not be possible which smells to a GTK+
limitation which can/should be pointed to.
(Remark: This is no pro GTK+ / wxPython vote but just a hint that there is
a further solution which might be perhaps not in your scope.)
