If you find time could you please test gmConfigRegistry in standalone mode. It 
seems to work for Dominique on MAcOSX but nor for me on Linux.
It shows up but instead of giving me the list of plugins it just shows 
(Subtree root). Seems like the branches are not getting created for some 
reason.
