If it may be useful ,
here's another snapshot of gnumed server and client on debian linux, with a
install-and-run script, but all the other packages ( postgresql 8.0, wxpython
2.6
-unicode,
python2.3 , python-mxdatetime, python2.3-pypgsql ) have to be on your debian
system already.
to unpack, do tar -xvf <<snapshot-tar file>> and then run_setup.sh,
and it will try to shutdown your current postgresql 8.0 cluster (main) , and
create a new
cluster for gnumed to run in on 8.0 alt1, start this cluster up, load it, unpack
the client, and run
the client using ./gm-0_2-from-cvs.sh ( gm-from-cvs.sh won't work).

-Karsten , Sebastian and Carlos have done quite a good job at bringing up a
usable client.
I think it would be fairly "straightforward" to setup connections with say,
document import via encrypted email
, referral letter plus documents or medical record importable dump via encrypted
email,
imports for other dump text formats, hl7 parsing of files downloaded via sftp,
or
https or encrypted email for pathology and radiology report downloading, and
have
all these things
(documents, letters, pathology results, radiology results, discharge summaries)
browsable from the EMR browser ?

have fun.
