I have reworded that message to:

 ==========================
 Unable to display the file:

  [/tmp/tmp1_uevn]

 Your system does not seem to have any
 viewer registered for the file type
  [<mime type>]

 Please consult the error log for all the gory details !

in 0.3. Does that make more sense ?

Either the user knows what to do (register a viewer for the
file type) or she doesn't. In which case she should take a
look at the log. Which likely won't make sense to her either
but which will make sense to an admin person.
