just wanted to mention that in the newer gnumed suse src.rpm packages

are some missing dependencies.

Thanks a lot for your report !
No problem.
They are, xsane and xmedcon.
xsane should be added as requires, but xmedcon only as suggests,
as i understood because it's only optional.

All of the above are optional as far as orderly working of
GNUmed is concerned. Each needs to be installed if people
want to use certain functionality but GNUmed will gracefully
notify the user if any such functionality is invoked but
cannot be carried out.

Well, then they should be added as Suggests:
which can be used as "weak" Requires. In distros where package
management is available, this should be applied in one way or another.
I just wondered because in earlier versions these dependecies existed.
Maybe you should have a look at
which gives a good overview over the available macros at least for suse.

In my tests when trying to write a letter with openoffice,
nothing happenend (no error) and then i remembered this pyuno dependency, installed the package and it started to work. The xsane stuff i only added because i read on this list that problems can occur in some cases when xsane is not installed. And xmedcon because it was required for earlier versions.
