Whoa, what's this Sidux packaging like ?!?   Both the Debian
package and the upstream tarball have that file. The Wiki
also talks about it ...

We *used* to use /etc/gnumed/gnumed.conf (years ago). You
might want to file a change request with the Sidux

OK, good, try renaming that to
/etc/gnumed/gnumed-client.conf (or create a symlink)

Those are the profiles you will be able to select in the
login widget. However, the actual profile data is defined
further below:

That looks OK to me.

Don't worry about this file for now.

Yeah, copy the /etc/gnumed/gnumed.conf to

If that don't work copy the above lines (the "profiles"
stuff under [backend] and the actual profile definitions
under [profile ...]) into /home/Geordie/.gnumed/gnumed.conf
and try again.
