Well, quite a few important system scripts depend on python
and thus they don't make it *that* easy to change the
default python version.
Nonetheless this:
python2.5 gnumed.py
python2.6 gnumed.py
python3.1 gnumed.py
all run on a standard Debian system just fine (apart from
GNUmed not being ready for 3.1).
