re the Palm Pre limitations
- battery life
- lacks a memory card slot
- limited Apps
- failure to always recognize taps
- pause of several seconds between tapping an application icon and the app
itself opening
- phone itself also takes a very long time to start up; timed in some cases at
over a minute and a half from pressing the power button
- Apple integration is limited (but as would be expected for any non-Apple
phone)
re use of a smartphone wrt EMR
- look-up of individual patients' data when troubleshooting phone calls, issues
at a hospital, of which the highest priority lookup info would IMO be
- medications, allergies
- demographics for contacting the patient
- problem list
- possibly, results
- ultimately it would be nice to fully access (read/retrieve) the
patient's clinical data but maybe not realistic (except would seem possible for
browser based EMRs)
- also look up of schedule (though not yet internal to gnumed)
- also review of messages
